How the verification works

1. 1. Therapist submits a government-issued ID

   The therapist provides a passport, driver's license, or national ID through a secure Stripe-hosted flow. MasseurMatch never sees or stores the raw document.

2. 2. Stripe compares ID against a live selfie

   Stripe Identity uses computer vision to confirm that the face on the ID matches the person holding it in real time. The check is automated and typically completes in under 60 seconds.

3. 3. MasseurMatch receives a pass / fail result

   If the check passes, we mark the profile Verified and record the date. If it fails or cannot be confirmed, no badge is shown. We review disputed outcomes manually.

4. 4. The badge appears on the profile with the verification date

   The Verified badge shows the month and year of the check so clients can see how recent it is. Therapists who let their subscription lapse and then re-subscribe must re-verify.

What the badge does not mean

Being transparent about the limits of identity verification is part of our commitment to honest platform design.

• Does NOT verify professional credentials

  The Verified badge confirms identity only — it does not verify a therapist's licenses, certifications, insurance, or compliance with local massage regulations.

• Does NOT guarantee service quality

  Identity verification is not an endorsement or recommendation. Client reviews and direct communication remain the best way to assess fit.

• Based on a point-in-time check

  Verification captures a moment. We cannot guarantee ongoing compliance after the badge is issued. Report any concerns to support@masseurmatch.com.

We use Stripe Identity for all document and biometric verification. Stripe is a PCI-certified payments infrastructure company trusted by millions of businesses. MasseurMatch does not store raw government ID images — they are processed exclusively within Stripe's secure environment.

Report a concern

If you believe a verified profile is misrepresenting itself or violating our policies, please report it. We investigate every report and will revoke the badge if fraud or misrepresentation is confirmed.
